Farris "Tina" Jennings, 55, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008.
Service: Noon Friday, Dec. 12, at Morningside United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Farris was born June 9, 1953, to Farrie Carroll and Johnnie Newell in Montgomery, Ala. She graduated from Paschal High School in 1971 and the University of Texas at Arlington in 1999. She was a faithful member of Morningside United Methodist Church until September 2007 due to illness. Farris loved to travel, and while working for DynCorp International she was able to travel to Virginia, Washington, D.C., Ecuador and Curacao. She was an avid reader, and loved playing tennis and spending time with her daughter and loving granddaughter. She will be dearly missed.
Farris was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Newell, and grandmother, Annie Adams.
Survivors: Loving daughter and best friend, Katrese Sims, and beloved son-in-law, Earnest Sims III; granddaughter, Nicolette Sims; mother, Farrie Carroll (Wilford) of Universal City; siblings, all of Fort Worth, Tanyon "Jackie" Stewart (Cornelius), LaWes Newell, LaShaunda Newell, Valencia Newell, Roderick Hicks (Leona), Janet Hicks-Woods (Femi); five nieces; one great-nephew; mother-in-law, Chloree Hicks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
