Stephen “Mitch” Mitchell, 65, went Home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
Mitch was born in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Andrew C. and Clara Mae Mitchell. He was a lover of trivia and an avid baseball fan. Mitch enjoyed an esteemed career as an administrator for the Emergency Management Agency with the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government. He was known by many as a kind and gentle soul and will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jessica Rinkenberger; and brother, Andrew “Butch” Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife and companion of 25 years, Judy Hettich Mitchell; son, Sy Benjamin Mitchell (Jaclyn); and grandchildren, Layne, Alison, and Tristan.
Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.
